Lawn Care Issues

  • Have you noticed any light green yellowing areas in your lawn?  If so, this usually indicated a need for fertilizer, especially one containing iron.  Apply a slow (controlled) release fertilizer and water in following application.
  • Soil insects are still with us.  Monitor any areas where grass appears to be dying out by treating the perimeters of these areas with a soapy water solution.  (In 1 gallon of water add 1-2 tablespoons of liquid soap.)  Once applied, you should see any insect pests emerging within a minute or so.  Triazicide is a good material to use.
